We request that all candidates applying for a role at the NOC submit both a CV and covering letter to emphasise the reasons for applying for the role. Please note that the NOC will, from time to time, use recruitment agencies to recruit specialist posts.
All applications should be made online. If however you are having difficulties applying online please contact the NOC Recruitment Team on 02380 596420 before the closing date.
Once the vacancy has closed, the shortlist panel will review all applications and agree which candidates will be invited for interview. In most cases this should take no longer than four weeks.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful applications at shortlist stage, due to the high volume of applications we receive. All applications are scored against the role specific criteria detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification and candidates who meet this criteria and score the highest will be invited to attend an interview.
Details of presentations or selection tests will be included in your interview invite letter if required. If you are expected to prepare anything in advance this will be specified. Interviews usually take place on site at NOC. Details will be provided if you are invited to interview. Detailed information relating to travel to the NOC sites can be found on our contact page.
If you are shortlisted to attend for interview, you will be sent details of your allocated interview date and time. Please note that it may not always be possible to rearrange dates, particularly when several members of staff may be involved in the interview process.

Sponsorship of non-EEA workers is contingent upon meeting strict Home Office requirements throughout the recruitment process. To comply with this, the NOC is required to request evidence of right to work in the UK from all successful candidates prior to commencing employment. NERC holds a licence to enable the NOC to sponsor migrant workers to live and work in the UK. However, the NOC is only able to offer sponsorship for specialist roles. The People and Skills team can provide further information.
The NOC operates a scheme that provides relocation assistance for a new employee who is moving to the area to start a new job at the NOC. For some recruitment situations, the NOC is able to support successful candidates through a relocation process and that this will be discussed with the candidate at the point of an offer being made. Please note that the relocation assistance does not cover the annual health levy. For further guidance regarding relocation, please visit the HMRC website www.gov.uk/expenses-and-benefits-relocation.
