Frequently Asked Questions
All of our live vacancies can be found on our 'Current Vacancies' page. Simply click on 'Apply Now' if you would like to apply for any of the positions.
We request that all candidates applying for a role at NOC submit both a CV and covering letter to emphasise any relevant experience and their motivation for applying for the role. We ask that all candidates provide an overview of how their skills and experience meet the relevant criteria as set out in the Job Description/Person Specification which you will find attached to the advert.
Please note that the NOC will, from time to time, use recruitment agencies to recruit specialist posts.
All applications should be made online. If however you are having difficulties applying online please contact the NOC Recruitment Team on +44 (0)300 131 2324 before the closing date.
Once the vacancy has closed, the shortlist panel will review all applications and agree which candidates will be invited for interview. In most cases this should take no longer than four weeks.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful applications at shortlist stage, due to the high volume of applications we receive. All applications are scored against the role-specific criteria detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification, and candidates who meet this criteria and score the highest will be invited to attend an interview.
Details of presentations or selection tests will be included in your interview invite letter if required. If you are expected to prepare anything in advance, this will be specified.
Interviews will take place either on Teams or at one of our sites. This will be specified on your interview invite. Detailed information relating to travel to the NOC sites can be found on our contact page.
If you are shortlisted to attend for interview, you will be sent details of the available times and dates. If you are unable to attend, please contact the NOC Recruitment Team on +44 (0)300 131 2324 as soon as possible. Please note that it may not always be possible to rearrange dates, particularly when several members of staff are involved in the interview process.
As a charity, unfortunately we are not normally able to reimburse travel expenses. If you require financial support to attend an interview, please contact the Recruitment Team as soon as possible on +44 (0)300 131 2324 for further information.
In normal circumstances, references will only be sought after an offer has been made. If we wish to take up references before this (i.e. as part of the application or interview process), we will only do so with your consent.
The interview panel should advise you at the end of the interview when you can expect to hear the outcome. Successful candidates will be contacted verbally and, upon acceptance of the position, will receive confirmation in writing.
Please note that all offers are subject to the successful completion of pre-employment screening.
For certain vacancies, we may be able to sponsor applicants using our Immigration Licence. This will be done in line with current immigration rules.
We do offer relocation support for those candidates who need to relocate to take up a position with us. This will be discussed in more detail with successful candidates when a job offer is made.
