Andrea Giulia Varzi

Biography

Dr. Andrea Giulia Varzi is a marine geomorphologist with a strong passion for acoustic data acquisition and post-processing.
Her research focuses on geomorphological and habitat mapping in coastal and deep-sea environments, with a strong emphasis on integrating multi-source geospatial data. She works primarily with acoustic bathymetric and backscatter datasets to produce high-resolution Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and intensity mosaics. Her work investigates seabed geomorphology and habitat distribution through the application of advanced geospatial analysis, remote sensing techniques, and GIS-based methods, supporting fine-scale geomorphological interpretation, habitat mapping, and seascape ecology.
