The James Cook is setting sail to the PAP-SO. Here we are setting up our filter rig in the chemistry lab. The filter equipment, along with everything else in the lab is being made secure. You can see the blue cod line used to tie the rid to the special strong rail on the wall and the fluorometer next to it is being held in place offcuts of wood screwed into the sacrificial work top. Everything that is loose will be tidied away before the ship leaves the Southampton. It takes several days to put everything in place ready for the first CTD tomorrow morning.
