Greenland Science Week

A team of National Oceanography Centre scientists attended Greenland Science Week in Nuuk in November.

Dr Elena Garcia-Martin, Professor Christine Gommenginger and Dr David McCann enjoyed the opportunity to meet local stakeholders and community representatives in Greenland.

Dr Garcia-Martin presented the preliminary results from a two-week cruise in Greenland fjords as part of her Arctic Carbon project, a philanthropic Initiative funded by Augmentum.

Meanwhile, Professor Gommenginger and Dr McCann showcased their work in the AEROSTATS project, funded by the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA).

In addition, the team highlighted NOC’s current involvement and contributions to Arctic research, including its focus on supporting the UK’s vision for Arctic science in the face of accelerating environmental change.
